and the student becomes the master…

today was my first day teaching my class in miami. I have to say, while it was not too difficult to talk about photography, it would be easier to teach the class had I been given a syllabus before class rather than after it. had I known they were going to wait until then, I would have made one before hand. it would also have been nice to know this was an intro class for most the students and an intermediate for others, but I can’t complain too much because at least I have the position in the first place. I had been praying for an opening and for God to move in our lives and he did, very quickly at that. tomorrow I speak to the chair of the department over at miami international university of art and design about three more classes. if it works out, I should be supporting us solely from teaching and can give up, or at least cut back, at lenscrafters. this is very exciting. all my effort in school is finally paying off.

we have arrived…

I was offered a job teaching adjunct at the new world school of the arts in miami, fl this coming semester. they offered the job on august 8th and the class starts on the 20th. we figured that since our lease was canceled here in kentucky on very short notice and then a few days later the job was offered, the good lord must be moving in our lives. we would be foolish not to take this opportunity, especially since it is the only offer I have gotten! we aren’t sure where we will live and where we will work to pay for said living, but heck, we have 5 whole days to figure it out.
